Ordering and Payment
Orders for UK delivery may be placed via our secure website or by letter, telephone and email. Payment is due at the time you place your order and all transactions are in £ sterling. When placing an order via the website, you will receive an email confirming we have received your order.
Methods of Payment
We currently accept Visa and Mastercard payment cards. If you wish to pay by cheque, you will need to write to us at:

Please remember to include your name, address, contact telephone number, details of your order and your cheque to cover the full amount of your order, including postage and packing.
Please allow 10 days before contacting us to chase up your order.
We aim to have all our books available for immediate despatch. If a book is temporarily out of stock, we will contact you by e-mail and offer you an estimated despatch date and the option of cancelling your order and receiving a full refund.
We endeavour to meet all our order requests promptly and efficiently but cannot be held responsible or offer compensation for any disappointment endured if we fail to meet our designated delivery time. If, however, any delay is due to availability we will undertake to keep you informed.
Goods are despatched within 5 working days of receipt of your order, often sooner. Our books are usually sent by courier (taking up to 3 working days). Please allow 10 working days for delivery. A fast courier service is available at £6.75 per parcel. Please contact us by telephone (01584 877456) to arrange this.
Please note if you wish to order books in time for Christmas, the last day for standard deliveries is 10 days before Christmas. Therefore, if you wish to order books after that time or at short notice at any other time of the year, please contact our office and we can arrange for a swift delivery for £6.75 per parcel. We apologise but this service is not available through the website.
Postage and Packing
We charge £3.50 towards postage and packing, no matter how many books you order.
If you live in the USA, Australia or New Zealand, we have trade distribution in your country, so it will be cheaper to order our books from local bookshops or online rather than from us here in the UK.
At Merlin Unwin Books we pride ourselves on the quality of our service, and always endeavour to meet the high standards we feel our customers deserve.
If for whatever reason a book needs to be returned, we offer a 'no quibble' returns policy as long as goods are returned in the same condition as they were received, in a saleable condition and in their original packing within 14 days of receipt.
Please let us know the reason for return on an accompanying letter. You will be given a choice of receiving a replacement book, or a refund. A refund of the delivery charge will be given in the instance of incorrect, damaged or faulty books, being sent. In this instance we will also ensure that the recipient is fully reimbursed for the postage costs incurred in returning the item.
