Meet the author - Barry Ord Clarke

Born in England, Barry Ord Clarke is an internationally acclaimed and much published author and fly tyer. Author of 16 books and contributor to more than 40 on the art of fly tying, Barry has won medals in some of the world’s most prestigious fly tying competitions, and his own flies are displayed in the Fly Fishers Club in London and in the Catskill master fly tyer collection in the United States.
For the past 30 years he has lived in Norway where he works as a professional author, photographer and fly tying consultant for the Mustad Hook Company. His successful YouTube channel ‘The Feather Bender’ has over 57,000 subscribers.
Barry Ord Clarke voted US Fly Tyer Magazine’s very first Fly Tyer of the Year 2021.

Barry is British, lives and works in Norway, and regularly demonstrates at fly tying exhibitions throughout Europe and the USA. A renowned photographer in his own right, his step-by-step tying images are crystal clear, minimalist and stylish. His approachable attitude and innovative tying techniques have encouraged thousands of beginners to take up the hobby in the first place; and more experienced tyers to up their game.
His fly tying books have been published in English, Norwegian, French, Japanese, German and Danish.
