Maynard Davies, RIP

Author and traditional bacon curer, Maynard Davies, has died on 24 February. His enthusiastic memoirs gained a cult following, describing his life's work in a profession he loved: Maynard, Adventures of a Bacon Curer, and Maynard, Secrets of a Bacon Curer.

He was hailed by Rick Stein as a ‘Food Hero’ and his book Secrets of a Bacon Curer was praised as a ‘hidden gem’ by the Oldie magazine

A real character and much loved family man, it was a pleasure to publish his books. Our thought are with his family.
