On Remembrance Day we bring to mind the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces in Britain and the Commonwealth.

Wilfred Owen, perhaps understandably, was thinking of the gentle landscape of his Shropshire home when writing of the horrors of the front line in his poem Spring Offensive, included in the anthology of Shropshire literature.
