Posted by Lydia Unwin on

Richard Barrett is the author of Wild World, a book that shows the reader how, when and where to take superb wildlife photos.

Richard is an avid traveller and his most recent international expedition was in search of whales in Baja California, Mexico.

The tour was one of just five boat-based trips run by Mark Carwardine Adventures to see whales and dolphins.

Blessed with some fantasticweather in the Pacific Ocean, Richards photos are a stunning example of what can be achieved with the technical knowledge and advice outlined in his book Wild World.

Breach! - Humpback Whale, Gorda Banks, Cape of Baja California, Mexico.

Eye contact - Gray Whale adult, San Ignacio Lagoon, Baja California Sur, Mexico

High drama - Gray Whale calf, San Ignacio Lagoon, Baja California Sur, Mexico

Wild World by Richard Barrett

Richard Barrett’s extraordinary journeys in search of tigers, jaguars, polar bears, grizzlies, orcas and many other rare apex predators have taken him to all corners of the globe. They are recorded in this collection of his stunning photos – each one telling the story of how it was taken, the circumstances, the weather, the discomfort, the patience and ultimately the reward of an extraordinary image.
